PRENATAL CARE
Prenatal care is holistic and encompasses the physical, psychological, and social well-being of the mother/parent. We schedule appointments on a similar schedule as an OB but include extra time at each visit for individualized care including nutritional counseling and education. For each visit, we set aside an hour of time to make sure you get all of your questions answered and concerns addressed. We offer the same labs, genetic screenings and ultrasounds but ensure you have up to date, evidence based information to participate in decision-making and give true informed consent. Your partner, children, and other family members are welcome to join appointments, ask all of their questions, and are encouraged to participate.
I also provide in-home prenatal care for those desiring a hospital birth. Reach out for more info!
HOMEBIRTH
Midwives view pregnancy and birth as normal life events. Most of the time things progress fairly easily in a predictable manner (well fairly easy is a relative term- labor is hard work). We will support you at home throughout your labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum. Whether you choose water birth, or you or your partner want to catch your baby, your midwife will be there to guide you and your family as you welcome your new baby into your home.
POSTPARTUM CARE
Comprehensive postpartum care is one of the best parts of midwifery care. Your midwife comes to your home for weeks to check on you both, give lactation support, weigh your baby, and help you through the ups and downs of the "fourth trimester." The weeks following birth lay the foundation for long-term health and well-being for both mother and infant.
TESTIMONIALS
I had Christy for both of my pregnancies. She was very supportive of my birth plan and never pushed her views or beliefs on me, but always informed me of the pros and cons of my choices. Her friendliness helps you feel relaxed and excited with your new adventure. She walks you through the postpartum time and you can tell its very important to her to set you up for success in motherhood. Love her and plan on having her if I get pregnant again.

Christy is the perfect balance of professional yet also like you are talking to a friend. She is the sweetest. We've had her with all three pregnancies and would have her again!
